The Law Society's response to the SRA consultation on reforms to PII and the Compensation Fund.


The Law Society has been very active in consulting with the profession and other stakes holders in advance of preparing its response to the consultation. The deadline for responses is the 15th June but in order to assist some who have yet to finalise their responses the Law Society has published its response early see http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/policy-campaigns/consultation-responses/sra-consultation-protecting-users-of-legal-services-law-society-response/

If you have not yet responded I do encourage you to do so and if you have any questions you are welcome to contact the Law Society’s Regulatory Affairs Unit who will be happy to help where they can.

The Law Society has also produced a slide deck to assist members who are interested in making their own submissions, but do not necessarily have time to read the whole consultation document, or the Law Society response. It focuses on the SRA’s main proposals and the objections to them:
